व्यक्तिगत एवं पारिवारिक विवरण:- . एस.सी. ध्यानी, श्री उमादत्त ध्यानी के लाड़ले पुत्र थे, जो भूमि से गहरा जुड़ाव रखने वाले एक सम्मानित पारंपरिक कृषक थे। उनकी माता, श्रीमती श्यामा देवी, एक समर्पित गृहिणी थीं, जिन्होंने अपने बच्चों में करुणा और शिक्षा के संस्कार डाले। वे एक स्नेहपूर्ण वातावरण में पले-बढ़े और अपना बचपन एक बड़ी बहन और दो छोटे भाइयों के साथ बिताया। वर्ष 1954 में उनका विवाह श्रीमती इंदु देवी से हुआ, जिन्होंने उनके शैक्षणिक और व्यावसायिक जीवन में सदा साथ दिया। दोनों ने मिलकर एक संतुलित पारिवारिक वातावरण का निर्माण किया और दो पुत्रियों तथा तीन पुत्रों का पालन-पोषण शिक्षा, संस्कार और सांस्कृतिक धरोहर पर विशेष ध्यान देते हुए किया।

शैक्षिक योग्यताएँ :-

उनकी शिक्षा यात्रा की शुरुआत खंडवारी गाँव के विद्यालय से हुई, जिसकी स्थापना उनके पिता ने की थी। उन्होंने वहीं से प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा प्राप्त की। गुरुकुल कांगड़ी से माध्यमिक शिक्षा पूरी कर माध्यमा (सीनियर स्कूल सर्टिफिकेट के समकक्ष) अर्जित किया। इसके बाद उन्होंने ऋषिकुल स्टेट आयुर्वेद कॉलेज, हरिद्वार से बैचलर ऑफ इंडियन मेडिसिन एंड सर्जरी की उपाधि प्राप्त की, जहाँ उन्हें आयुर्वेद की गहन और सूक्ष्मताओं से भरी विद्या से गहरी प्रेरणा मिली। साथ ही उन्होंने पत्राचार द्वारा अंग्रेज़ी में बैचलर ऑफ आर्ट्स (ऑनर्स) भी पूरा किया।

आगे बढ़ते हुए, 1958 में उन्होंने पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट ट्रेनिंग सेंटर इन आयुर्वेद, जामनगर (गुजरात) से डॉ. सी. द्वारकानाथ के मार्गदर्शन में हायर प्रोफिशिएंसी इन आयुर्वेद की उपाधि प्राप्त की। उनकी शैक्षणिक यात्रा का शिखर तब आया जब उन्होंने प्रो. वी.जे. ठक्कर के निर्देशन में “औषधियों के रस तथा रस-सीमा निर्धारण” विषय पर पीएच.डी. पूर्ण की।

As an Educator:-

Prof. Shiv Charan Dhyani’s impact as an educator was profound, shaping the future of countless students. As a Researcher:-

Prof. S.C. Dhyani was a pioneering critical researcher in Ayurveda, known for his rigorous analysis and objective evaluations.

• His significant contributions include the groundbreaking study of Grahani in 1956, where he integrated Ayurvedic and modern scientific perspectives on the digestive system.
• He advanced Dravyaguna research by bringing objectivity to Rasa (taste), Veerya (potency), and Vipaka (post-digestive effect).
• His Ph.D. work on the taste threshold of Ayurvedic drugs involved innovative taste threshold experiments.
• Additionally, he mentored the study on thermodynamic properties of Ayurvedic drugs (Veerya) to understand their physiological impacts.

As an Author:- Prof. S.C. Dhyani also excelled in literary pursuits. His celebrated books, known for their accessibility, adeptly translated intricate concepts into reader-friendly prose.
