Narayanan Mooss

He was one among those Ashta Vaidyas who had established a great reputation in Kerala. His father was a great scholar well versed in the science of Ayurveda. The son showed great intellectual capacity even from his younger days which developed under the instructions of the late Kuttencheri Mooss. Under him he studied Sanskrit and Ayurveda and in a short time became a good scholar and an efficient physician. There were many instances of his curing diseases that had reached a desperate stage. He was the consulting physician to the late Maharajas of Cochin and had won numerous presents from them. He was also a poet and bad written many poetical works in Sanskrit as well as in Malayalam. Yadavadanaviyam, Kopata Sandesam, Virathavadham Kathakali are some of his important works.
