Admirable Personalities to Transform Ayurveda(APTA)
The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) is an autonomous body of the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy), Government of India. It is an apex body in India for the formulation, coordination, development and promotion of research on scientific lines in Ayurveda . The Council, especially the National Institute of Indian Medical Heritage (NIIMH), CCRAS, Hyderabad, the dedicated institute for Literary Research under the Council has been actively involved in literary research in Ayurveda and has brought out various important medico-historcal works in to publication.
The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences had undertaken a research project entitled Admirable Personalities to Transform Ayurveda (APTA) to document the life profiles of luminaries who had contributed to the development of Ayurveda. The outcomes of the study have been collated and presented in the form of this website. This is an attempt to convey our gratitude to these great persons for their sincire efforts in taking Ayurveda as a system to its position today and to serve as a source of inspipration to students and stakeholders of Ayurveda to learn from these great lives.
